Women all over the world have been suffering as a direct result of the dangerously flawed findings of the European Commission’s Scientific SCENIHR committee’s review of PIP breast implants.

The time has arrived for an urgent review of the evidence

All Together

The European Commission has announced the long-awaited review and we are asking everyone with evidence to come forward and take part.

If you have been affected by fraudulent, non-compliant PIP implants, if you are a surgeon, GP, Regulatory Expert, health professional, medical researcher or patient, wherever you are in the world, the time has come to put your experiences on record and help to finish what PIP Action Campaign members started back in 2012.

All women exposed to untested, non-compliant, PIP implants are asked to make contact with the all the health professionals who have treated them to take part in the Review.

Women should provide details of their PIP related surgeries, any confirmed diagnoses and/or treated symptoms and any complications they have experienced.

All the evidence must be submitted to the European Commission by September 2016.

One hundred thousand women in Europe and five times that number of women worldwide have been exposed to PIP implants, which are fraudulent, non-compliant, manufacturing experiments in unknown and untested materials. Many of these women are mothers with children. Nearly all are of reproductive age. A small number are recovering breast cancer patients who have undergone reconstructive surgery.

Women need answers

They should expect to be able to access the healthcare services they need, including necessary ongoing future monitoring and testing.

Women & exposed children must have access to diagnostics, treatment and long-term monitoring. Women with ruptured PIP have died from BIA-ALCL and the numbers of reported cases amongst women with breast implants is growing. As a result of the increasing number of cases of BIA-ALCL the European Commission have also announced a review of BIA-ALCL details can be found here:

Change is urgently needed!

Women deserve a high standard of scientific inquiry and the adoption of the precautionary principle. No woman, wherever she is in the world, should be living with fraudulent, non-compliant PIP implants in her body.

If you know of some peer reviewed research that should be included in the review, please get in touch.
